An Italian savory bread recipe.
When it comes to bread baking I always have a confusion about how it will turn out. It is actually the art of flour and yeast turning the fluffiness of the bread. Once we put hand on bread baking believe me you will always have a special recipe of bread on every party table. I am here with one of the easiest and delicious bread. It is crispy outside and ridiculously soft inside. It taste awesome with olive oil dip or cheese dip. Oh my god its yum. Yes, I'm talking about Focaccia bread. Here is the classic focaccia bread recipe
Focaccia Bread is an Italian savory bread which can be blended with soup and pasta. For carb lovers and soup enthusiasts this will be a treat. I don't think I can make you feel the aroma of the baked bread when taken out of the oven though my words. The olive oil, roasted garlic and rosemary will unleash the delightful aroma. It can be topped with bacon ,caramelized onion or cheese. Today i here with a classic version with herbs and olives.
Don't worry about hearing the name. The recipe is simple as compared to other breads. Hard kneading is not necessary here..
Ingredients:
Warm water-1 cup
Dry activated yeast-1tbsp
Sugar -1tbsp
Olive oil-3tbsp
Salt-a pinch
Chilly Flakes- 1tbsp
Flour- 1 Cup
To make flavorful Focaccia bread you need to combine warm water ,yeast , sugar and keep it aside for at least 10 minutes to rise. If your yeast doesn't rise no need to think about it. Through it and do again. This may happen because your warm water may not be warm enough for the yeast to start the process. Check it after 10 minutes if there is froth or thick foam.
Once the yeast mix is ready add olive oil ,salt,chilly flakes and all purpose flour. Knead it and rub some olive oil over it and cover it with a cling sheet or cloth .Keep aside till it double the size. Once the dough is ready smooth and non sticky press to the bottom of greased baking pan to a quarter of an inch. Again keep it for rest .Hardly for 15 mints. After some hole with finger tips on the upper part of dough .Pour 2 tbsp. of olive oil over it .
Now comes the garnishing part. You can garnish with bacon, caramelized onions, cheese, anything of your choice. Here I use Cherry tomatoes ,olives and herbs such as rosemary and oregano. For baking a bread you should bring your oven to the right temperature. Preheat the oven in 374f/190c or 15 minutes preheat. Bake it for 14-15 minutes . Your flavorful aromatic Classic Focaccia bread is ready.
You can serve focaccia bread with soups, stews or toast it with salads.
